BIO

​

Mariana Estrella was born 33 years ago (1986) in Guadalajara, Mexico. She studied Audiovisual Arts at a University but her main studies were at workshops such as Drive and Visual Production Seminar, The Creative Process, Visual Development Program, Curating and Editing, among others.

 

She explores video-art and photography and had some exhibitions: “Eros and Thanatos” (exhibit at Mexican Festivals 2007-2011), "Morphology of a Time", exhibited in MURA (Guadalajara, 2012) and Entijuanarte (Tijuana, 2011). "Lets go Home" selected in Young Art 2014 edition; is part of a compilation of international works on DVD called "Meteor" (2015), published by Laboratorio Sensorial; selected in Cinéwomen (European Magazine 2016); and exhibited in Exconvento del Carmen in the collective exhibition called Sensorial (Guadalajara, 2017). "Pathfinder" participated in the collective exhibition FG2015, curated by Anthony Goicolea (Regional Museum of Guadalajara).

In 2015 she teaches a Diploma in Short Film Production and a Videoart workshop. In 2016, she received a grant from the artistic program PECDA. Jalisco and developed "Mother Legacy", produced during 2017. "Welcome Once Again" is a photographic series selected by the artist Alex Dorfsman to be part of Photographic Panorama 2017 (digital photography platform). She is currently working on the development of his next art project.
